Unique Vs. Expensive: Remodeling Cheat Codes...
October 9, 2022
Do you really have to spend a lot to get a lot when it comes to creating a unique space?
When you're planning to remodel your home, it can be tempting to buy every item that catches your eye. After all, you want your space to be beautiful and unique! But if you're on a budget or have limited square footage for storage, there are ways to achieve both goals: spend less money while still creating a unique look.
Unique vs Expensive When Remodeling
In the world of home design, there are several ways to make your house unique. Whether you're looking for a way to stand out in the neighborhood or just want your home to feel more like yours, here are some tips on how to do it without breaking the bank.
Get creative with color: If you've got a blank canvas in front of you and want an easy way to add some pizzazz without spending a ton of cash, consider painting one wall (or more) a bright color that doesn't match anything else in the room. The right shade can really change up how a space feels! Just don't forget: paint is not inexpensive! Make sure that before buying any paint supplies that they'll work with whatever kind of surface they'll be applied onto—and then go wild!
Using Bold Patterns
Using bold patterns is another way to make your space unique without the cost of expensive materials. However, when it comes to using them in your home, there are some rules to follow that will help you keep your design from becoming too chaotic.
Use patterns in small doses. The more decorative items you include in a room, the less attention each one will get and the harder it will be for people's eyes not to wander elsewhere. Use bold patterns sparingly so they can stand out as opposed to looking overwhelming or like an afterthought.
Don’t use every surface with a patterned fabric—and make sure not all pieces are covered in one pattern either! For example: If you have two chairs with patterned cushions on them but nothing else around them (like curtains), then those two chairs will look like they belong together even though they don't go well together at all! Don't worry though; there are still plenty of ways we can use patterns without making things feel crowded or busy.
It's not always the case,
but it often is.
Where it really matters is in the details. When you choose your paint colors and window treatments, you're deciding what will make your home unique from every other one out there. The details are what give each room a personality and feel like it belongs to you—it reminds you of all the time you spent creating this space for yourself, which makes it all worth it!
Be creative with those middle-of-the-road items.
The next step is to use more middle-of-the-road items. You can do this by using the same number of middle-of-the-road items as you would if you were going for an expensive look, but using less expensive versions of those items.
Don't get too Attached
There are many reasons to hire a designer or contractor when remodeling your home. You may have a vision for the space, but it can be difficult to plan for everything that comes with remodeling. This is where hiring someone with experience becomes invaluable.
The first thing you should do when starting your renovation project is to hire either a designer or contractor for help in planning what you want to do with your space. A designer will take into account all of the elements of designing a room and make sure everything lines up correctly while also taking into consideration where certain pieces will go within the design scheme itself. A contractor on the other hand will take care of any structural issues such as wiring or plumbing issues that may arise during construction which would require professional assistance otherwise.
Bring The Outside In
One of my personal favorite ways to spice up a space is to bring the outdoors inside. Plants are an affordable way to COMPLETELY change the feel of a room. They offer natural stress relief and fresh air. Even just picking out a couple of your favorite plants and seeing them when you enter the room first thing in the morning is enough to start your day on the right foot!
Conclusion
We know that everyone wants their home to look great and feel like a place they want to spend time in. But this doesn't always mean spending a lot of money on expensive materials or fancy finishes. Sometimes the most important thing is how well your space works for you, and that means paying attention to the details of good design rather than worrying about what other people will think when they visit!
